How come I can never take a picture that I like? I have lost 50 pounds but in the pictures people take of me I look at them and say "dang I am still huge".Which I still have alot to go but you would think that even I can tell a difference. But I cant. The only picture I seen a diffrenece in is my work badge . I might need to scan it the I could post some before and after pictures. I was trying to take just some face shots and i look drunk in them all( lack of sleep I know)but I deleted them they were so bad. Just wanted to know if any others are having this problem.

I'm new here started phen yesterday - BOY IS IT WORKING! I had 1500 calories yesterday and today 1200. Livestrong website says I should eat 1700 a day to lose 2 pounds a week. However, I see alot of people saying they eat 800-1000. I was always taught you wouldn't lose or you would plateau big time if you did on this too low amount. I'm wondering, I force myself to get these calories, what do yall do? How many do you eat? I really need to lose this weight. I have a 12 month old who I can't keep up with and a 10 year old I'm afraid will be embarassed by a "fat mom" soon! I bought a dress tonight I love and could wear if I lose weight or now but would look bad in it! So I took before pics in it because on my bday - aug 30th I WILL wear this dress and I WILL look FAB-U-LOUS!

We had sum family fly in from denver today which i didnt know about, so now their having a big cookout! great!!! but i have willpower and im NOT eating anything else!!!! :o

Today I got chest pains, on the left side of my chest, right where my heart is, near the top of my breast. My heart was also racing at the time. I didn't even take a whole phen today, I took half and that's it. Never had chest pains before on this medicine, kinda scary, what do you think?

some of the recent posts got me to thinking about the self talk we have with our selves. I'm sure we all do it. like in the other posts, I 'see' myself as an active athletic person so when I see pictures or the mirror, I HATE that person. my point is that I have to make a conscious effort not to say negative things. I really believe it is so counter productive.

I try just to focus on something I like, like my skin or hair. I 'catch' myself sometimes though, saying....ugh, gross. ya know. or I remind myself I AM doing something about it and it will get better.

what do you all do with your self talk?

I'm soooo excited... I went out and walked around some local shops because the weather here is so nice today... I found a sales rack at a department store and browsed through it... there was ONE, just ONE pair of silvers and I tried them on... they fit like a glove... and the exciting part... I got to the registers... $14.00. :D

Hi guys.....sorry I havent been around much. I am going ok with my weight loss except for a few boo boos. The other day was the anniversary of the day I was raped and I was a bit depressed, I ate a WHOLE fruitcake. I was so uncomfortably full I had to stick my fingers down my throat. YUCK!!! A good lesson learnt....dont eat a whole cake at the one time. I am eating well during the day but nightime is a struggle...I am still getting up every 2-3 hours and eat a handful of cereal or a piece of bread and butter every time I get up. I havent been exercising the past few days cos a funny thing happened to my eye...like a shadow went across it and then what looked like sparks were flying at my face...the dr said could have been a mini stroke or my migraines are just changing....the next day I got my normal kind of migraine so I guess that is what it was. My eye was feeling strange for a few days so I was told not to do any exercise until it felt normal. So today I am hitting the treadmill....YAY...never thought I would miss it lol. I didnt go to work this week either...been feeling a bit down, but I am hoping I feel ok to go tomorrow, I kind of miss those furry little buggars even though some of them scare me. It has been fun working with the animals.....I get to look after fairy penguins, ringtail and brushtail possums, baby roos, a wallaby (cheeky buggar), mini owls and different birds and a duck that follows me around pecking at my leg lol.
I have to go back to the dr today, I have a sore spot at the back of my tongue/throat and my ear is very painful. My 19 yr old son is getting tested for swine flu today, I dont think they are too worried cos they told him to come back on saturday if he still wasnt well yet and when he called them they said we cant fit you in come tomorrow. My husband and daughter have to come too to get their prescriptions for the Hep A and Typoid shot we have to have to go to Malaysia in september. We have about 16 weeks to go till we leave and I am still on track or my goal...I have to lose another 25 lbs by then. Oh well that is all my news..sorry for the novel lol. I've been an on again off again lurker on the site for about two years. I was on phen in October '03 and lost 15 lbs in 2 months. Then, I moved to another state and didn't bother to hook up with another doctor.

Last week my soon-to-be sister-in-law sent me a picture of my fiance' and I at his family reunion. Talk about a wake up call! Who was that fat woman who stole my clothes and my man? Oh! That's just me...

So, I did a search on the forum and found a recommended doctor in the area (Dr. Branch). I've set up an appointment for Monday at 1pm with the dire hope he'll prescribe for me. Wish me luck!

I'll post a real before picture if I get hope on Monday there will be an after.

So here it goes. I think Soy protein is VERY bad for you. I think its all hype. here's why I say that. For years i heard about how good it is for you and the Asians have eaten it for thousands of years and you can lose weight with it blah, blah, blah. Well, I did all that and suddently started getting ovarian cysts, some would go away and some needed to be removed. the cysts caused my body to not respond to insulin and then i got huge!! I continued to eat soy, then i got a lump in my breast (benign) but it had to be removed. I could never figure out what was wrong, when the lump was tested they determined it was estrogen driven and so were the ovarian cysts. the weight kept piling on! Doctors gave me all kinds of pills including estrogen suppliments to stop me from ovulating so the cysts would stop forming, it did for a while, but then i gained even more weight - eventhough i was dieting!

Well about a year ago i finally found an endocrinologist and i feel like he saved my life. he told me to STOP taking any soy products, stop birth control pills and began treating all my issues. he said that soy mimicked estrogen and that was causing my cysts and breast lumps, my endometriosis, and even my weight gain. he told me soy is great for menopausal women who need the estrogen to be healthy, but too much in a pre-menapause women can cause weight gain and water retention big time. I read that drinking 1 8oz glass of soy milk produced the same amount of estrogen as an average birth contol pill

Ok, so now i have been off soy for almost a year and have had no more lumps, but i do get occasional cysts, although nowhere like i used to. I also started losing weight - very slowly, and the swelling in my ankles went down.

I have read everywhere how great it is for you and for ovarian cysts, and i find little about the possible adverse effects.

so, i know you all like to have all the soy protein and have been successful at losing weight, but maybe that is from adding the protein aspect of the soy and maybe it would be safer getting it from other lean sources.

I just purchased my very first bikini :eek: for sh:)ts and giggles LOL! I wanted to see how I would look in it. I also bought a tankini, which is the real bathing suit I plan to wear in public. I love the tankini, it hides my belly bump and I feel very comfortable in it.

Hello everyone!
I'm normally very quiet on here, but I wanted to ask what y'all would do if you were in my shoes.

I started Phen on Dec. 15, 2008 and as of today I've lost 82lbs! I feel great, but I still need to lose about 60-70 more to be at my healthy weight.

About 2 months ago I started noticing I was losing my hair. It totally ****s since I used to have long, thick hair..now it's lifeless and thin and I feel like I need to cut it off.

I have always taken a multi-vitamin that the doc prescribed with the Phen, and now I've added Biotin and have been on it for about a week.

Do you think I should stop Phen and try to lose without it or keep using the Phen until I get where I need to be? (At the sacrifice of going bald of course)

All the docs are concerned with is collecting their money, weighing you, checking your blood pressure and sending you out the door.

Hello everyone!!! I am so sick of being fat, today my 23 year old son is running in a 10k at Ft. Leonardwood and I would love to be at the finish line to congratulate him, but I was not invited. I say all that to let you know how desperate I am to start this weight loss journey. I go June 12th to the doctor to get started on Phen. I am so excited and nervous all at the same time. My first thought is what if it doesn't work for me!!! Brief history, I have battled my weight all my life... I gained 80 lbs with my first pregnancy (23yrs ago) lost 20 then had my second child and gained only 40 lbs. I exercised through my whole pregnancy and lived by the ocean. My food consumption comes from total bordom and a lack of direction with my time. Throughout my adult life I would go on Juice fasts and lose tons of weight and get down to a size 6 then start eating again and gain it all back within 7 months. But during that 7 month time span I was HAPPY!!! Then I would sink into depression because I was gaining weight work myself mentally into fasting again and lose it all back. Over and Over again.... I am now in my 40's and exhausted.... I don't want to fast anymore, I don't want to work out anymore, but I don't want to be fat anymore...... My son and daughter are awesome kids and very active, very healthy in there eating but really secretly ashamed of there 230 lb mother... I know that is why my son did not invite me today. I need to start living life again and my weight is keeping chained to my house. :mad::mad: I started my home based business three months ago and was at one of my customers house and she was telling me about a doctor that had lost over 100 lbs and starting a diet clinic within his OBGYN practice. I thought about it for two weeks and finally called and scheduled the appointment. In the meantime I started surfing the web looking for info and came across this website.. I must say WOW---- Everyone of you Ladies are awesome, in just a few days I have been so encouraged by all of your successes, struggles, triumphs, etc. I really feel like I can do it this time... I pray that I have no side effects and that the Phen works for me.... I just don't have the extra push right now and If it would nudge me in the right direction I believe I would be eternally grateful.... I just finished my 7th week and i have lost a total of 14 lbs, 3.5" around my waist and 4" around my hips. I am ecstatic. I have been using sparkpeople to keep up with my food intake. I do 20 minutes of pilates and 30 day shred daily. I just started level 3 today and i can't feel my thighs, lol. I hope that means they are shredding away. Here is a pic from about 6 weeks ago and one from now.

I have a juicing machine & I'm wondering if any of you have any healthy recipes.

All I do now is carrot, orange, and apple juice...but I can only make one cup because there are too many calories after that. I'd like something that's super healthy and has tons of vitamins..but I can't think of any ideas.

I want to do this because I want to make sure that in 7-11 weeks here, when I am off the phen, that I don't have cravings..if I teach my body to eat healthy (as I have been) and get in the mode of juicing..I know I'll be all set once I wean myself off the pills.

I have noticed when I juice that it helps for at least 1/2 of the day if not the whole day with my cravings and such. I think I might start juicing at morning and right after dinner...because after dinner is usually when I go NUTS with a snack..I get this hunger pang that you would swear I hadn't eaten in 3 years. I'm always good until after dinner...then I have that one extra meal/snack that sets me back.

Anyhoo...any ideas that aren't too high in calories? I don't mind if it isn't the best tasting..I know that it's the vitamins that I am concerned with getting. :)

well i have not been on in a long time way too busy with wedding stuff! so i went to dr again thursday i am @ 140 woot woot! i started at 168.8 april 1st and today May 29th 140lbs,. i am sooo happy. i feel good and i may just have to pack the two piece i bought to take to cancun for the honeymoon! here are my new before and after shoots let me know i am having a hard time seeing the change i feel it but dont see it.

I need good exercise while on the phen! HELP!

I only have 9 pills left and im going to start the HCG shots.. but im not ordering them till about another week.. plus it'll take 2-3 weeks to get everything (im guessing) so my question is.. do you think i should come off Phen just save the 9 pills till maybe a week or two goes by? just try and diet? its been making me feel a lil sick to my tummy too.. so i was thinking.. just wait till i order the HCG then start taking them.. ??? maybe a little jump start again? the thing is i wanna be in the 150's when i start the shots.. so i dont wanna end up coming off.. then gaining.. i dont know if coming off if you gain it right back..

Hello, everyone! I am really hyped up right now! I got a huge burst of energy, music sounds better, my inner ear feels a lil' weird and I am extremely thirsty! I drank 3 bottles of water and 1 bottle of vitamin water. I know it was kind of late in the day but I just couldn't wait. I had took Adipex 37.5mg before and lost 10 lbs in a week. I exercised about 2 hours a day cardio on my elliptical and treadmill. I stoped taking it because I found out I was preggo. but I am back on again and this time I am gonna lose all my weight! A lil' about myself: I have a 4 year old boy and a 5 month old girl. I put on 100 lbs my last pregnancy. I was 173 a year ago. I look good at that weight because I have alot of muscle. you know muscle weighs more than fat. when I was 9 months preg. I tipped and almost broke the scale lol at 273. I didn't look morbidly obese but I was. after giving birth I lost a lil' and now 5 months later I weigh 227-230 it flucuates. I lost the 40+lbs from giving birth (my baby was 8lbs 4 oz. then all that other fluid and ect.) and working out 4 to 5 days a week. I walk 8-10 miles per wk. and do the elliptical here and there, light weights,swim and have a low card., veggie and protein diet. the only thing I didn't do alot of was drink water. but now I really am gonna step up my game and drink lots of water and have a workout schedule also I am gonna stretch. I can't even touch my toes! I will be posting my progress with pics. I am gonna do this! I got my mind right with alot of help from my friend phen. I wish all good luck!:heart:

Well for the past days now I have been feeling like if I eat I will gain weight. I usually eat dinner which I get full fast. I am not sure why I feel this way. Before taking phentermine I felt hungry all the time. I am so stressed out all the time. My husband works nights and sleeps all day leaving me to take care of the kids by myself. I am so drained emotionally and physically. Taking care of 2 22 month olds is alot of work especially when they are sick. :(

Okay so the Biggest Loser's host Alison Sweeney has been raving about this Wii Personal Trainer for awhile and said it's the main way she got her baby weight off. I read the reviews and everyone said that you can get a "real" workout with it - especially compared to the Wii Fit.

I bought it today at Wal-Mart for $59.96 and did 4 workouts on it. I REALLY like it - I never liked the Wii Fit, but my oldest daughter has gotten alot of use of it, but this one wins hands down. You can use your Wii Balance board and the resistance band and get some pretty good workouts. I will say that I used my own resistance band because that was the only negative thing that I saw in the reviews was that the resistance band is cheap and tends to break after a month of use.

Anyway you can customize your own workouts, use the pre-made workouts or do the 30 day challange (a program that gives you 20 different workouts for the month at 3 different intensities and changes it up each workout).

I would really like to hear from others that have it and maybe we can do the challange together. BTW I was wearing my BodyBugg during the workouts and the amount of calories that the game said I burned was pretty close to what I actually burned - so about 400 for the day.:)

I'm going tomorrow to meet with the Dr. and get my first script of Phen. I know that he will suggest a diet plan to stick to, and from what I'm reading here, a lot of you guys are on a strict low carb, high protein diet.

I'm just worried that the program won't work for me because I'm a vegetarian (not for health reasons... just moral)... anyone here a vegetarian? If so, what do you eat?

Ive just been thinking so this is my last question (for today) lol

How do you classify your time on phen? By the days? or by the months supply of phen?

I started phen march 17th but i made my one month supply last longer than a month. I skipped days, took breaks, and broke my pills in halves.
I just started my second month supply on the 12th of this month so i technically say im on my second month of phen bc its the second months supply im on.

How about yal?
